1: Start with the diabolo spinning at normal speed and with the strings not tangled or crossed in any way.
2: Do a Clockwise Sun except let go of your right stick at about 12 o'clock.
3: The stick will swing around (in a huge circle) and you should catch it at around 3 o'clock. To prepare for the catch turn your right hand so your thumb is up and your hand is near where the handle will end up.

Armicide
(suicide of right stick around left
forearm)
see
Flash Movie Controls
source: Corey Hoelker USA
The Armicide can follow any Clockwise Sun from open string. As the CW Sun begins, move the end of your right stick under your left forearm or even left wrist. Keep the stick there and notice how the sun wraps string over your arm and down to the diabolo as it finishes the Sun. The right stick can point upward and left after the Sun completes. Bring it horizontal, then push its handle down so it flips around the arm and 'suicides' above your left arm. As soon as you push the stick handle, reposition your right hand with thumb up (palm facing left) in ready of the stick catch. If you right hand is slightly above your left arm (where the string wrap was), the stick should hit your hand. Be ready for a quick catch. After the catch reposition your right hand so the stick is held correctly. The diabolo should be back on open string. Check the Stickocide for a variation on this trick. Also see the Overarm Swoop for its Armicide ending.

This
trick works better with lighter sticks
|
The Stickocide can follow any Clockwise Sun from open string. As the CW Sun begins, move the end of your right stick under and behind your left handstick. Keep the stick there and notice how the sun wraps string over the stick and down to the diabolo as it finishes the Sun. The right stick can point upward and left just as the Sun completes. Push The right stick's handle down so it flips around the left handstick and 'suicides' above it. As soon as you push the stick handle, reposition your right hand with thumb up (palm facing left) in ready of the stick catch. If your right hand is slightly above your left handstick (where the string wrap was), the stick should hit your hand. Be ready for a quick catch. After the catch reposition your right hand so the stick is held correctly. The diabolo should be back on open string. Also see the Armicide for a similar trick.

Quicker Stickocide
(Stickocide
variation)
source: Roel Hazenberg (The Netherlands)
The Quicker Stickocide can follow any Clockwise Sun from
open string. As the CW Sun begins, move the end of your right stick under and
behind your left handstick. Keep the right stick there until the diabolo reaches
about 10 o'clock. Let go of the right stick so it flips around the left handstick
and 'suicides' above it. As soon as you release the right stick, reposition
your right hand with thumb up (palm facing left) in ready of the stick catch.
If your right hand is slightly above your left handstick (where the string wrap
was), the stick should hit your hand. Be ready for a very quick catch. After
the catch reposition your right hand so the stick is held correctly. The Sun
completed and the diabolo should be back on open string. Also see the Armicide
for a similar trick.

B's Easy Suicide
(suicide from one right wrap)
source: Gu Boliang
1) Add one righthand wrap (like in Power Burners.)
2) Make sure both sticks are in normal position, high up.
3) Simply let go of the right stick.
4) The stick makes one half circle around the diabolo.
5) Catch the flying right stick, which should by now be close to the diabolo. Note: The stick needs to be caught on your side of the hanging left string.
6) If done correctly your string should be in normal position with no wrap anymore.
Note: This is a nice way for exiting out of a right wrap.
It's also useful if you got messed up during one of the Chinese Suicides where
you still have a right wrap left after the suicide. Then simply exit the wrap
with this trick.

Jamicide
(Releasing both Sticks and recatching.)
source: Matthew and Jared from Briarcliff
1) Start with the diabolo spinning at normal speed and with the strings not tangled or crossed in any way.
2) Do a Clockwise Sun except let go of both your sticks at about 10 or 11 0'clock.
3) The sticks will swing around (in a huge circle) and you should catch with thumbs up. One stick in each hand.
TIP: After the catch you may find the diabolo is on crossed string. To recover from this you can do a crossed arm toss or exchange sticks.
Variation: When throwing the Sun, begin with both sticks in one hand.
Berserk Suicide
source: Ben Okin from Briarcliff
1) Start off with a lot of spin and the strings not crossed or tangled in any way.
2) Put both sticks in your right hand making sure they don't get tangled or
turned around.
3) Hold out your left hand and do a Left Trapeze over it. This is like a regular Left Trapeze where your hand is like the left stick.
4) Grab the strings with your left and flip it out of the trapeze. This begins the diabolo in a counterclockwise direction.
5) Let the diabolo do a full Counterclockwise Sun (still holding the strings in your left hand). Make sure that the diabolo does not get caught in the string while doing this.
6) After the end of the counterclockwise sun now reverse directions and begin to do a clockwise sun, but let go of the string when the diabolo reaches 12 o'clock.
7) Quickly grab the left stick with your left hand and get ready to do a second Clockwise Sun.
8) During this last time around do a Suicide Attempt.
Do the attempt, catch the stick, and smile to your gaping audience!

Garroticide
(Suicide ending from the Garrote trick)
source: Nick Bestor
First do the Garrote trick follow steps 1 through 6
1) Hold your Right stick high so there is a lot of string between the diabolo and the right stick.
2) Holding the sticks so they don't move, bend forward at the waist so the right side of your neck touches the string. As you bend forward your right stick that is high needs to move to the left so the string wraps almost around your neck.
3) Continue to bring the Right stick down as you are bent over. Pointing your Right stick left, come under the diabolo with the string off your Right stick.
4) Hook under the diabolo and pull upward and rightward with the Right stick so the diabolo begins a Clockwise Sun motion over your head and to the right.
5) As soon as the diabolo is clear straighten up to stand normal, but continue the Clockwise sun until it is down to the below your sticks in the normal position.
6) Notice that the string is crossed and is on the right backside (recaptured) side of the string.
Now swing the diabolo into a Clockwise Sun.
7) As the diabolo reaches 12 o'clock, let go of the Right stick.
8) As the Sun completes, catch the Right stick near where you released it. Make sure to hold your Right hand so your thumb is up, which makes the catch easier.
9) Straighten your right stick in
your hand after the catch and do a crossed arm toss to undo the crossed string.

|
1. Start with the diabolo spinning and in the normal position.
2. With the left handstick, wrap the string around the axle. Your left handstick needs to circle once around the diabolo clockwise to get this wrap.
3. Now swing the diabolo out a bit to the left.
4. When the diabolo is farthest away from you to the left, let go of the right handstick.
5. As the right stick begins to unwind around the diabolo begin to pull the left handstick to the right.
6. Your free right hand now needs to be out (thumb up) and ready to catch the stick. You'll should be catching slightly above where your right handstick was released from.
7. Change your grip on the right stick and you should be back to normal.

This trick works better with clean slick string |
|
1: Start of with plenty of spin on the open
string.
2: With you left stick wrap the string twice around the diabolo's axle. You
need clean string for this otherwise the diabolo will wind up in the string.
3: Now swing the diabolo out a bit to the left.
4: When the diabolo is farthest away from you to the left, let go of the right
stick. The stick should do two clockwise circles around the diabolo. The stick
should swing on the outside of the string.
5: Your free right hand now needs to be out (thumb up) and ready to catch the
stick. You'll should be catching slightly above where your right stick was released
from.
6: Change your grip on the right stick and you should be back to normal.
NOTE: If you loop the string around the diabolo three times you should be able
to do a "triple suicide!"

Sun Chopper
aka: Sunny Side Suicide by Jack, USA
(imagine a horizontal
suicide!)

Flash Movie Controls
source: John Kilgust, Merrill, WI,
USA
introduced at the Reno '03 IJA Festival
1) Start with two Clockwise Suns, one right after another. You'll notice twist of strings above the diabolo's axle.
2) Bring the right stick closer to the left stick's end and 'hook' the right stick's string over the left stick near its end. This move is where the right stick's string 'hooks' from the audience side of the left stick and over it.
3) Pull the right stick toward you a bit so there is 4 or 5 inches (say 12 cm) of string from the right stick to where it hooks over the left stick. Move the left stick so it is pointing horizontally right.
4) Swing the right stick toward you (under your arm) so it orbits horizontally around the end of the left stick. As the stick encircles, it wraps string around string hanging down to the diabolo. This is the same swing that the Whirlly Bird trick uses only in reverse direction.
4) After the right stick goes around two times, catch the stick where you had released it with your right hand. The number of times the right stick goes should equal the number of Suns that the trick starts with.
5) After catching the stick, the diabolo can be tossed into a release between the sticks hitting the string across with the axle of the diabolo. Be sure that the rising diabolo 'hits' the string that is between both sticks. Pulling outward apart as you toss the diabolo will help to release the twist of strings around the left stick's end. Note: Care must be taken that the release toss is not done too strongly. Gently toss the diabolo and pull apart, so the string wraps have a chance to slip off end of the left stick.
6) Catch the diabolo
and smile!

1) Lefthand Inverse Trapeze. See a Righthand Inverse Trapeze for help.
2) Release right stick into a counterclockwise Suicide. This is a push up motion with the right hand to start the stick suiciding up and to the left.
3) After the right stick passes under the diabolo and swings rightward, catch the right STRING (not stick) with right hand.
4) Allow the right stick to circle (cc) around diabolo again. You may need to help the stick's continued orbit with a lifting of the right string as you hold it. It is as if you gently throw upward and leftward around the diabolo. As you guide the the right stick allow the right string to slip throw you right hand so as the give the stick enough string to orbit around the diabolo. Remember that string of the right stick needs to hit the axle of the diabolo.
5) After the right stick swings under the diabolo, push the left stick downward into a counterclockwise suicide. Quickly move your left hand above the diabolo to prepare for a catch (hold your hand, palm rightward and thumb up). Remember your right hand is still holding the right string.
6) Catch right stick with left hand (just above diabolo).
7) Catch left stick with right hand.(before stick goes above diabolo). This is actually done by slipping the right hand down the string toward the handstick. As the handstick levels off to your right side, it should slip into your hand.
8) The diabolo is now on crossed strings (the right backside of the string), which leaves you holding the left stick in your right hand and the right stick in your left hand. The animation returns back to normal by exchanging, thus returning, the sticks to the original hands.
8) Other moves to return from the
Tomicide crossed string ending are the Crossed-Arm
Toss (watch 'ct') and the Single
Fritz Release. Actually any move from the Right
Backside position is a possibility.

1) Perform a Right Backside
2) After the diabolo is captured in the rightstick's string, and as the diabolo swings in a clockwise arc, let it keep going.
(As the diabolo begins to rise on the left side begin crossing the right hand under left to keep the diabolo on open string.)
3) When the diabolo reaches 9 or 10 o'clock, release the left handstick
(The left handstick will be on the right side of the diabolo because of your crossing arms)
4) As the diabolo reaches the top of the arc, hand the right stick to
the left hand.
5) Catch the suiciding left handstick as it falls downward on the right side with the right hand. (NOTE: The trick's action leaves the diabolo on open string, but your hands have traded sticks, if it matters)

Infinite Suicides
Helpful YouTube Infintie Suicide Tutorial from Tim Ellis
source: David Chervony USA
1) Start with the diabolo in high spin on open string.
2) Put one wrap on the diabolo's axle using the Right handstick.
3) Begin to swing the diabolo rightward under your right stick. (Continue to hold the right stick so it points forward toward the audience.)
4) Just as quickly as the diabolo moves under your right stick; throw the Left handstick downward so it swings under the diabolo and moves rightward. (The Left handstick begins a counterclockwise circle around the diabolo, where it is pointing at the diabolo's axle the whole way.)
4. As the Left handstick reaches about 3 o'clock , add another right-hand wrap (keeping the stick pointing forward.) So as the Left stick circles, it removes the wrap, but at 3 o'clock the right handstick puts the wrap back on.
5. Continue wrapping for each revolution, as the Left stick reaches 3 o'clock. Try to the keep the string length between the diabolo and Left stick at more than half its total length.
6. To stop, reach out with your left hand (thumb up) and catch the Left stick as it moves leftward from above. (for easier catches grab string near left stick.
NOTE: The part that takes practice is getting the timing down when you add a wrap. A friend of mine says that you draw a capital 'D' around the diabolo. As the left stick goes around, you bring the stick downward (always pointing forward), then as the left stick gets to around 3 o'clock, you do the half circle that completes the 'D.' The timing requires drawing part of the 'D' faster in some parts. You need to figure that out as you practice.
Timing is the key and different for some because of different diabolos and sticks and string length. The speed of the left hand-stick's suicide goes faster with lighter sticks, shorter string, and/or heavier diabolos. The point at which you re wrap with right stick is different depending on the thickness of the axle and is really different if the axle has a one-way bearing. So, you may find that the string needs to be much more than half as it goes around or that you don't need to re wrap at exactly 3 o'clock as the instructions indicate.

Genocide
see Flash Movie Controls * Left Hand Explanations
source: David Chervony USA
1. Start with the diabolo in high spin on open string.
2. Go to the Right Backside. Quickly position the right handstick in your hand so its end is pointing straight down at the diabolo. This is a new grip where your thumb is on top nearest the end of the stick handle and the stick is pointing downward. (The action of the backside move will naturally make the diabolo swing leftward.)
3. Swing the diabolo back to the right. As the diabolo swings past your right side (about 5 o'clock), throw the Right handstick downward and to the left of the passing diabolo. (Hopefully your new grip on the stick starts a stick swing where the stick points at the diabolo as it circles around it.)
4. The Right handstick should begin a gigantic circle and the diabolo should leave the string in an upward toss. One key to this trick is tossing the diabolo just as the Right stick begins its huge swing. You may want to raise you left hand and handstick high enough so the swinging stick doesn't swing around and hit the ground or floor. The diabolo's toss height is probably less than twice your height.
6. If the timing is correct the Right stick will be finishing it's circle as the diabolo falls (over on your right side) to the height of your left hand. The idea is for the diabolo to fall into the right side of the swinging string.
7. If done correctly, the diabolo will force the stick to quickly make a circle around the diabolo creating a wrap around its axle. If possible catch the rising right handstick with your Right hand (palm down). This is a tough catch because the stick is really moving quickly. Often this is because the diabolo landed on the string too near the swinging stick. You may find it easier to catch the Right stick after it has circled the diabolo a few times. If catching the stick seems almost impossible, try catching the string ahead of it.
8. If the stick circled the diabolo once on the catch, there will be one left-hand wrap on the diabolo and this can be quickly unwrapped with the left handstick. If the stick circled more than once you will need to remove as many wraps with the left.
(A variation on the catch is take this trick into Infinite Suicides on the left side instead of catching. Then catch when you decide to end the IInfinite Suicides trick.)
(Another variation is to allow the Right handstick to go over and around the left stick after it has 'caught' the falling diabolo. The stick will then swing downward and rightward under the diabolo to be caught by your right hand. This amazingly creates a Left Trapeze on the left stick which can be easily undone.) source: Tye Tye USA

Haavisto's Suicide Sun
source: Arttu Haavisto Finland
1) Start with a Forced Sun around the left stick.
2) Release the Left stick as the diabolo reaches the bottom of the sun.
3) Move your left hand, thumb up, above the diabolo in preparation for the catch.
4) This should feel like a Suicide Attempt on the left side, where the Left stick will Quickly circle around counterclockwise. The flying stick should swing under the diabolo, out to the right side and return to above the diabolo where your hand should be waiting.
5) Catch the stick with the Left hand and re-positon it so you are holding it normal. The diabolo should be on open string again.
Notes: This trick is basically two tricks, a Forced Sun followed by a Suicide Attempt, but the difficulty may be WHEN to release the left stick. If this is done at the wrong time, the diabolo flys off or it doesn't end up on open string. The Suicide Attempt animation is shown for the right side. Practice the Suicide Attempt for the LEFT side a few times by itself and then try them together.

Boliang's Iced Suicide
Attempt
source: Gu Boliang
1: Start with the diabolo
spinning at normal speed and with the strings not tangled or crossed in any
way
(same as normal Suicide Attempt)
2: Add one right wrap. (same as in the Ice
Cracker) This
is a simple counterclockwise movement of the end of your right stick around
the diabolo's near cup and back to normal. The diabolo now has one wrap of string
around the axle.
3: Begin a Counterclockwise Sun movement. Let go of your left stick at about
12 o'clock (straight up).
4: The stick will swing in the normal huge circle way and then will make a
quick small half circle around the diabolo.
5: Be prepared to catch a fast stick.
NOTES: You may find that the diabolo has a twist of string
on the axle after completing this trick. This is possibly because you have caught
the stick too soon right of the hanging down string from your right stick. Basically
the left stick needs to travel behind the hanging down string before it is caught.
If this becomes a problem, try beginning the trick with a right wrap around
the FAR cup of the diabolo.

Arthuricide
source: Arthur Mahler - Nancy ,France
1) Toss up the diabolo on your left side and catch it in the Left Backside.
2) After catching the diabolo on the left side, allow the diabolo to swing rightward under your sticks and then swing back leftward. Continue this leftward swing into a Clockwise Sun.
3) After finishing your Clockwise Sun (where the diabolo is below your sticks), begin one more Clockwise Sun and drop the right stick (pushing downward as you release it). The stick will begin a suiciding circle moving first leftward under your left stick.
4) The right stick circles up and then to the right where you can catch it with your right hand, thumb up.
5) Catch the stick and return your grip to normal. Note that the diabolo is on crossed string and is now in the Right Backside position.
6) From here you can do a Cross-armed Throw and catch on open string. NOTE: The Cross-arm Throw is a way to get out of the backside. Holding your left handstick higher than your right; move your left stick to the right and your right stick to the left. The right stick needs to move under and closer to you as you cross your arms. This action should toss the diabolo upward. As the diabolo begins to fall, uncross your arms and bring you sticks apart to tighten the string for the catch.
6) Variation is any trick that can be done from the Right Backside, like the Single Fritz Release.
Comments: One neat thing about this trick is that it starts on the Left Backside and and can end (at step 5) on the Right Backside. That allows it to be used between two tricks as a very cool transition. Imagine this Combo, Scoop Catch (without the cross-arm throw), Arthuricide (without the initial left backside), Single Fritz Release (without the initial right backside).

Binti's Dot The I Suicide
source: Andreas Bintinger (Leopoldsdorf/Austria)
1) Do a Dot The I, so the left stick is hanging below in the 'I' position. For Dot The I instructions see 1a - 1c.
1a)Do Spaghetti, but don't toss it.
1b) Put the end of your Right stick in the two loops hanging off your left stick. And pull your left stick out.
1c) Now let your left stick hang right under the diabolo forming a doted 'i'.
2) Swing the diabolo and left stick out to the right. The left stick and diabolo should travel around the right stick in a counterclockwise circle.
3) As the Left stick reaches above the diabolo moving left. Reach out with your left hand (thumb up) and catch the stick to complete the suicide. (The diabolo goes completely around the right stick, but the left stick actually only travels a half circle - 180 degrees.)
4) Correct your left hand to normal and your diabolo should be back on open string.

Releasing Dot The I Suicide
source: Jan Jachnik, England
1) Do a Binti's Dot The I Suicide, but don't catch the left stick the first time it passes over the diabolo. For Binti's Dot The I Suicide instructions see 1a - 1c.
1a) Do Spaghetti, but don't toss it.
1b) Put the end of your Right stick in the two loops hanging off your left stick. And pull your left stick out.
1c) Now let your left stick hang right under the diabolo forming a doted 'i'.
1d) Keeping the right stick pointed forward, swing the diabolo and left stick out to the right. The left stick and diabolo should travel around the right stick in a counterclockwise circle. (hint: It helps if the string loops are closer to the middle of your strick and no near the end. Those loops need to stay on the right stick threw the suiciding part of the trick.)
2) Allow the diabolo to go around the right stick once, but the left stick needs to travel around one and a half times. As the Left stick returns to above the diabolo the second time, reach out with your left hand (thumb up) and catch the stick to complete the suicide. (Make sure to keep the string loops on the right stick while the stick and diabolo are suiciding. Try to keep the right stick pointing forward through it all.)
3) After the stick catch, swing the diabolo out right and upward. The string should release the diabolo into a toss.
4) Catch diabolo.
Propellercide
source: Norbi Whitney, Crediton, England
1) Throw the diabolo about head high
2) Do a Left Backside catch.
3) Then swing it back round to the left and let go of the right stick to do
a suicide, but give it a good hard throw, so it goes round the diabolo once
in a clockwise direction while doing the suicide.
4) You will now have the string crossed left backside, and have a complete string
wrap around the diabolo as well, so you will have to do a right hand front wrap
in reverse to get out of this. Then do a cross arm throw.
It is hard, to get out without the string tangling up, so use clean string
or a smooth diabolo (or just be really fast), but looks cool, especially in
UV if the string and diabolo glow.

source: Gu Boliang
(1) Make a Trapeze
Cradle and catch the diabolo on the cross.
(2) Now make a Right Trapeze, this
may seem a bit strange
in the beginning( due to the shortness of string and the strange arm positions.)
It is possible with regular length string, but no problem with a longer string
and a bit of practise.
(3) Now either simply let go the left stick (Chinese

or perform a Fire Cracker like exit.
(4) Catch the stick with left hand.

Over-the-arm Duicide
source: Rob Clement, Cornwall, UK
1) Take both sticks in the righthand.
2) Swing the diabolo to the left and up and around the left arm, so basically you have a
kind of trapeze around the arm.
3) Swing both sticks down and under the arm in a two stick suicide.
4) Catch them both, one in each hand. Note the first stick to arrive will be catch with the right hand as the tailing stick is caught by the left hand. Both catches are at the same time.
5) The hanging diabolo now has a cross of string above the axle. Now perform two (2) Right Trapezes.
6) As soon as the last trapeze is landed toss the diabolo up betwwen the sticks and it should release from the string loops into a toss. This and the two trapezes are similar to the Fritz Release trick.
7) Catch.

Inversicide
source: Sam Cappleman-Lynes, Bude, Cornwall
1) Do a righthand Inverse Trapeze but miss the string as the diabolo swings upward to hit left string. The diabolo misses on your side of the left string. You end up with a wrap of string around the middle of your right stick.
2) To begin the suicide, throw the Left stick around in a clockwise motion so it goes over the stick twice and then quickly under the diabolo once.
3) Quickly get ready for the catch by moving your left hand near and left of the diabolo. Beware that the last circle around the diabolo is tight and quick.
4) Catch the left stick with left hand.
5) Do a right unwrap to return the diabolo to open string.

Hypercide
source: Stephen and Aaron Hulka Hucknall
1) Starting with the diabolo in the normal position get the diabolo spinning as quickly as possible.
2) Turn the left hand stick 90 degrees so that the end of the stick is pointing left.
3) Now let go of the left stick and at the same time with the right stick do a quick counterclockwise circle around the diabolo's axle.
4) This should whip the left stick around very fast so be ready to quickly catch the left stick.
5) After the catch your diabolo should be back on open string.
Beware catching this suiciding stick could be painful.

Water Fall Genocide
Source: Josh Jacobson, Chicago
1) On open string, do a Waterfall on the left side. The first Waterfall move creates a Trapeze on the Left stick.
2) Continue with the Waterfall trick. The second half of the Waterfall trick is where the Right stick pulls down on the trapeze so the diabolo begins a counter-clockwise circle around the Left stick. Allow the diabolo to continue into a Counter-clockwise Sun.
3) When the diabolo reaches about 4:00 or 5:00, release the Left stick.
4) The Left stick will spin counter-clockwise and the diabolo should rise as if it were slightly tossed. The diabolo should be few feet to your right side.
5) Quickly hand the Right handstick to your Left hand and keep the suiciding stick moving in a big circle. The stick will be spinning counter-clockwise 360 degrees around the diabolo.
6) As the suiciding stick nears the floor or ground make sure that your Left is holding the swinging stick high enough so the stick doesn't hit the floor or ground. From there the stick rises so the string will come under the falling diabolo's axle.
7) You'll need to guide the swinging stick so the string comes under the diabolo 'catching it.' It is important that the diabolo is tossed out of the Sun, so it rises high enough for it to be in position for when the stick arrives. Also try not to 'catch' the diabolo too near the swinging stick for it will make the stick spin around the diabolo so quickly it is more difficult to catch. Take a look at the Genocide animation.
8) If the string comes under the diabolo's axle near the half way point of the string, you should be able to catch the circling handstick after one, two, or three times around. The catch with the right hand is palm down to the right of the diabolo.
9) After the stick catch, the diabolo will have extra wrap(s) around it depending on the spins around the diabole by the swinging stick. Unwrap with the right and/or left handstick as needed to get back to open string.
Disclaimer: If you stick your head in the path of the stick, there is a good chance that it will hit you in the face. I have learned from experience.
