Inverse
Trapeze (it)
(see also a similar trick Al's

Flash Movie Controls
1) With the diabolo spinning, reach in with the right handstick to the left of the left string. At about 1/3 the left string's distance from the diabolo (lift up with the left stick a little so the diabolo stays the same height off the floor), pull the string right with the end of the right stick.
2) With a quick CW circular motion, encompass the diabolo (360 deg.)with the
right stick's end. The right stick is the center of the circle. The right
stick stops above the wrapped up diabolo and the left stick moves down to
be parallel with the right (both straight out).
3) Slowly raise both sticks and the diabolo straight up until the diabolo
is about waist high.
4) Now quickly snap both sticks down (making sure the right stick does not
collide with the diabolo). The sticks are both left of the diabolo as you
pull down.
5) The string should release from the axle leaving the diabolo off to your
right in mid air.
6) Tighten string and catch.

Inside-Outside
Trapeze |

1) Go to the Left Backside (an unwrap-recapture on the left).
2 At this point the hands are parallel. Normally the left hand would cross under the right at this stage. Instead bring the two hands level and parallel. The string goes from the right stick across horizontally to over the left stick, vertically down, under the diablo from the left then up to the left stick. This is a dynamic movement so that when arriving at this point the diabolo is still moving to the right.
3 Let the diabolo continue its Counter Clockwise movement to the right into a Right Trapeze - around the Right stick and catching on the horizontal string. As it completes the movement bring the two sticks closer to each other. The sticks should be parallel to the ground and to each other and about 6 inches (15 cm) apart. As the diabolo completes its trapeze (ie reaches a point vertically below the left stick), then both hands do an upward arc to the right. This is to take the impetus out of the diabolo.
4 The arc of the hands reverses. The hands move in a downward arc to the left. This is to throw the diabolo in a Clockwise Sun. The hands seperate and the diabolo goes into a Clockwise Short Sun. A Short Sun is a sun that falls between the sticks.
5 After the Short Sun the diabolo is in a backside position still travelling Clockwise Then do a normal trapeze (CW), bring hands together, and do a Single Fritz Release.
Combination: (I have combined this movement with another.) Do a Right Inverse Trapeze. Release the diabolo to the left so it can be caught in the Left Backside. This begins you into the Inside-Outside Trapeze trick. These two movements go very smoothly together.
The Hills n' Falls trick is a somewhat similar trick involving trapezes.

Climbing
Trapeze
see
Flash Movie Controls
1) First get up an incrediable amount of spin.
2) Do a Left Trapeze.
3) Now toss the diabolo horizontally to your right. As you toss, point your Left handstick to the right so the sting loops slip off. The diabolo should go far enough to the right to pass over the right stick. Note: You may want to make sure the diabolo doesn't bind on the string during this toss for the string has a full wrap on the axle.
4) After the diabolo clears the Right handstick, Move the Right handstick
downward and the Left handstick above it. You are quickly positioning your
sticks to do a string climb as in the Climb
The String trick. The sting should be verticle with the daibolo just right
of the Right handstick.
5) As quickly as you get the sticks in position, pull the string tight. Keep
the tension even so the diabolo climbs to the left stick. Too much tension
will slow the diabolo and waste its spin.
6) After reaching the left stick the diabolo will come down the other side of the string if you circle under the diabolo with the left stick's end. This movement must be done quickly as a counterclockwise circle all the way around to above the diabolo.
7) Actually the diabolo now falls down the vertical string toward the right stick. The right stick needs to be moved right slightly to catch the diabolo. After catching, even the sticks out to the normal position, and the diabolo should be on open string.

Redone
Trapeze
(A Release after missing
a Trapeze)
see Flash Movie Controls |
1) With Good spin do a right handed trapeze miss. That is: the diabolo does not land on the string, but missed toward you. This is a common occurrence error of the Trapeze trick, which this trick takes advantage of.
2) After the miss keep your sticks parallel and the hanging diabolo should
be below the string it just missed.
3) Now do an Inverse Trapeze motion with your Right stick, so the diabolo
trapezes into the string above, over your right stick and around to hang to
the right.
4) Moving both sticks together toss the diabolo up. Pull down slightly with
both sticks to release the strings as the diabolo rises. Diabolo should clear
all strings.
5) Catch and smile.

1) With Good spin do a Right handed Trapeze miss. That is the diabolo does not land on the string, but missed on your side of the string.
2) After the miss keep your sticks parallel and the hanging diabolo should
be below the string it just missed.
3) Now do an Inverse Trapeze motion with your LEFT stick, so the diabolo trapezes into the string above, over your Left stick and around to hang down from he Left stick.
4) Moving both sticks together toss the diabolo up on left side. Pull down slightly with both sticks to release the strings as the diabolo rises. Diabolo should clear all strings.
5) Catch and smile.
Also you might try missing a Left Trapeze and then doing the Inverse Trapeze over the Right stick.

Double
Redone Trapeze
(variation of the Redone Trapeze with an added trapeze and a different release) see Flash Movie Controls |

1) Build up some spin.
2) Do a simple Right Trapeze.
3) Do another Right Trapeze,
but miss the string when the diabolo comes
around, allowing it to fall between the two sticks. (NOTE: The miss should
be where the diabolo misses on your side of the string.)
4) Do a inverse trapeze to the right, catching the sting over the diabolo as the diabolo swings out clockwise. The diabolo will end up hanging off to the right of your sticks. (NOTE: This is the same movement used in the Redone Trapeze, but your string is short account the first trapeze.)
5) Now Swing the diabolo up between the sticks into a toss. Make sure that the diabolo's axle hits the string-across between the sticks. (NOTE: toss the diabolo lightly for it has to release the loops from the right stick as it rises) (ALSO NOTE: This toss is not like the Redone Trapeze which tosses the diabolo off to the right of both sticks.
6) As the rises, point the stick ends at the diabolo so the loops of string leave the right stick. Diabolo should become free of strings and escape upward.
7) When diabolo returns tighten string and catch.

Twice
Undone Fritz Release

1) Do a righthand Redone Trapeze, but don't toss it yet. Diabolo should be be hanging off to the right of the right stick.
2) Do another inverse trapeze movement to the right. This is where the diabolo
circles the right stick colockwise, catching the string as it rises, and ends
up hanging off to the right of the sticks.
3) Allow the diabolo to drop and the loops of string to fall off the right stick. (NOTE: that you are now on the Right Backside of the string.)
4) Do two trapezes. (NOTE: This is like the ending of a Fritz Release.)
5) Now Swing the diabolo up between
the sticks into a toss. Make sure that the diabolo's axle hits the string-across
between the sticks. (NOTE:
toss the diabolo lightly for it has to release the loops from the right stick
as it rises)
6) As the diabolo rises, point the stick ends at the diabolo so the loops of string leave the right stick. The diabolo should become free of strings and escape upward.
7) When diabolo returns tighten string and catch.
Stacked Redone Trapeze

Flash Movie Controls

1) First miss a Right Trapeze, where the diabolo misses on your side of the string. This is like doing the start of a Redone Trapezes. The diabolo should be handing down from the right stick.
2) From that position miss another Right Trapeze. Again miss so the diabolo misses on your side of the string. The diabolo should end up handing down from the right stick again.
3) Then do an Inverse Trapeze motion with your right stick, so the diabolo swings (clockwise) into the string above, over your right stick, and around to hang down from the right stick.
4) Toss the diabolo up off the right side from the right stick. Make sure the diabolo is not tossed between your sticks, but right of both your sticks. Also make sure to point the right stick at the rising diabolo so the all string loops slip off the end of the stick.
5) The diabolo should fly free and
then fall for your normal catch.

Boxed Trapeze
Source: Zach Fine, Clayton, CA, USA
1) Do the beginning of a Right Trapeze, but don't catch the diabolo on the string as usual. allow the diabolo to miss and go past the left stick.
2) Let it drop to the left of your left stick. You are holding both sticks pointing forward side-by-side.
3) The previous movement will make the hanging diabolo swing to the right.
4) Add to the swing so the diabolo goes right and upward around the right stick.
5) Allow the diabolo to land on the string like a Right Trapeze ending.
6) To unwrap, swing the diabolo out to the right into two clockwise circles (Suns).
7) After the two sun circles the diabolo should end on open string in starting position.

Cross-Arm Inverse Trapeze
source: Tom Yorke
1) Begin with a Right Inverse Trapeze trick, but don't toss it.
2) Cross your left hand and stick over your right hand. Bring you right handstick over to the left side. Both sticks are still pointing forward. (It should look a bit like a Left Trapeze, but your hands are crossed.)
3) Flick the diabolo (leftward) over the left stick, which is the same movement as getting out of a Left Trapeze.
4) Uncross arms and you are back to normal position with the diabolo on open string.
Variation ending: As the trick is finishing, carry on the diabolo's momentum into a Counterclockwise Sun. This looks best if fluid.
